Set dosa / Set dosai - Yummy Combo Set Dosa-Vadacurry Recipe - Chennai Special Dosa Recipes

Set dosai or Set dosa is a thick, fluffy and spongy dosa variety which is usually served with Vadacurry or Vegetable Saagu. Set dosa and Vadacurry is one of the good combinations and is served in most of the hotels in Tamilnadu. This dosa is very soft and spongy and is also called as "Malligai Poo Dosa". Try this set dosa and enjoy.

Ingredients needed for making Set Dosa
2 cups idli rice
1/2 cup urad dal
3/4 cup Aval
1 tsp methi seeds
Curd - 1 tbsp.
Salt as needed.
Oil as needed

Method for making Set Dosa
1. Soak idli rice, urad dal, poha and methi seeds in water for 4 hours.

2. Grind all the ingredients and curd by adding enough water to get a dosa batter consistency. Add the salt r and mix well using your hands. Allow the batter to ferment for 6 to 8 hours.

3. Heat the dosa tawa and pour a ladle full of batter and spread into a thick dosa. Do not spread out like you do for normal dosas. Add 2 to 3 drops of oil and close this with a lid. Allow this to cook in a medium flame.

4. Now open the lid and serve hot.

Set Dosa is ready to be served with Hot Vada Curry / Chettinad Tomato kurumaVegetable Saagu or Coconut Chutney.
