Pongal Festival is one of the important festivals of Tamilnadu which is also called the harvest festival. Pongal Curry recipe is a traditional dish which is made and served to Sun lord. Ingredients needed for making Pongal Curry Recipe

Potato - 2
Manjal Poosani / yellow pumpkin - 1 slice
Sarkarai Valli Kizhangu / sweet potato - 3
Avarakkai / Broad beans - 10
Pachai Mochai - 1 cup
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp.
Broken Urad dal - 1 tsp.
Onions - 1
Chilli powder - 3 tsp.
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
Salt as required.

Method for making Pongal Curry Recipe

1. Peel of the skin of the sweet potato, potato and pumpkin and chop all the veggies to fine pieces.
2. Heat oil in a kadai splutter the mustard seeds, add the urad dal and curry leaves then add finely chopped onions and saute well.
3. Add the cut vegetables and saute well then add the powders and a little water and close with a lid.
4. Cook till the vegetables are soft.
5. Now add grated coconut and serve hot.
