Pachai sundakkai Kara Kuzhambu is one of the tasty and healthy ancient recipes which is made atleast once in a week in the olden days to get the benefits of turkey berry. Ingredients for making Pachai sundakkai Kara Kuzhambu 

Green Sundakkai - 1 cup
Drumstick - 1                                
Small onions - 1 handful
Tomatoes - 1
Thalippu Vadagam - 2 tsp.
Garlic  - 10
A sprig of fresh curry leaves
Tamarind - Lemon size
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
Sambhar powder - 2 tbsp.
Rice flour - 1 tbsp.
Salt to taste.

Method for making Pachai sundakkai Kara Kuzhamb

1. Wash the green sundakkai and then deseed it. You can remove the seeds by crushing them with a hand
pestle and then soaking in water to remove the seeds.


2. Heat oil in a pan, add the vadagam and then the curry leaves followed by the small onions, garlic and tomatoes. Saute well and the add the drumstick cut into 2 inch pieces and the smashed deseeded pachai sundakkai without the pods.


3. Extract the juice from the tamarind add 2 cups of water (adjust water accordingly) and then add the salt, turmeric powder and the sambhar powder and mix well.

4. Pour this extract to the contents in the pan and allow this to boil for 8 - 10 minutes.

5. Mix the rice flour with little water and then pour this to the kuzhambu and cook till it becomes thick.

Serve hot with White rice.
