Venthaya Dosa and Vadacurry - Healthy Sponge Methi dosa - Traditional Grandmother's style Methi Dosa Recipe

Venthaya Dosa or Methi dosa is one of the healthy breakfast recipe which is easy to make. This dosa tastes well with Vadacurry and coconut chutney. You can also serve this with sambar, idli milagai podi or kuruma also. The preparation of the batter is different from the usual procedure. Fenugreek is added here and it is well known for its  anti-diabetic property and also this helps to reduce weight.


Ingredients for making Methi Dosa in Grandmother's Style

Idly Rice - 3 Cups
Urad Dhal - 1/2 Cup
Poha/ Aval - A handful
Sour Curds - 2 tbsp.(optional)
Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 Cup
Salt as needed.

Procedure For making Tamilnadu Venthaya Dosa

1. Soak rice, dhal, poha, fenugreek seeds together in water for 6 hours.

2. Grind everything together in a wet grionder.

3. Add needed salt and then mix well with curd

4. Allow it to ferment for atleast 8 hours.

5. Heat the tava and pour a ladleful of batter and spread it. You can see small spots all over.

6. Turn the dosa when it becomes crisp.

Serve this Sponge Vendaya Dosa with Hot Vada curry and coconut chutney.
