Traditional Milagu Adai Breakfast Recipe - Karthigai Deepam Special Milagu Adai - Festival Recipe

Milagu Adai is one of the popular karthigai deepam recipes which is very simple to make and is also so healthy. The method for making this is similar to the normal and usual Adai but the taste is different the flavour of the pepper and coconut taste in each bite makes this Milagu adai a special and Nutritive breakfast suitable for all ages.

Ingredients for making Karthigai Deepam Special Milagu adai Recipe

Parboiled Rice - 1/2 cup
Raw Rice - 1/4 cup
Urad Dal - 1/4 cup
Toor Dal - 1 tbsp
Chana Dal - 1 tbsp
Black Pepper - 1.5 tsp
Coconut - 2 tbsp grated
A sprig of Curry leaves
Salt - to taste
Oil - as required.

Method for making Milagu Adai

1. Soak the all the dals and  rice in water for 3 hours and then grind this to a coarse paste.

2. Grind the pepper coarsely in a mixer.

3. Transfer the ground dal-rice mixture in a bowl and then add the grated coconut, curry leaves, salt, pepper powder and then mix well to get a batter type consistency thicker than the usual dosa batter.

4. Heat a dosa tawa, drizzle little oil and then spread the batter just like you make for dosa.

5. Allow this to cook and then flip this to the other side till you get a golden brown color and a crispy texture.

Serve the hot Adai with butter or any chutney of your choice. Adai Tastes well with Avial
