Chennai Hotel Style Crispy Rava Dosai - Spicy Yummy Rava Dosa - Easy to make Breakfast Recipes

Rava dosa is one of the popular south indian dosa variety which is easy to prepare and does not need fermentation. It is one of the tasty and healthy breskfast recipes which can be either made plain or can be made spicy with onions, curry leaves, pepper and green chillies.  Try this and enjoy.


Ingredients for making Rava Dosai
Rava - 1 cup
Idli Battter - 1 cup
Maida - 1/4 cup
Curd - 1/2 cup
Green chili - 2
Onion - 1
½ inch ginger, finely chopped
A sprig of curry leaves
Black pepper - 1/2 tsp.
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp.
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp.
Urad Dal - 1 tsp.
2 cups water or as required
salt as required
oil for frying the dosa

Instructions for making Rava Dosai
1. Mix the idli batter, rava and maida along with salt, curd and required amount of water. Add enough water so that the dosa becomes crisper.

2. Keep aside for 30 to 40 minutes.

3. Heat oil in a kadai, splutter the mustard seeds and fry the urad dal, cumin seeds and pepper. Add the curry leaves and add this to the batter.

4. Heat the tava or non-stick pan pour a ladle full of batter from the edges towards the center. You can see holes appearing in the dosa. S
prinkle 1 tsp of oil from the top till it becomes crisper and golden brown at the base. Next flip and cook the other side.

Now the crispy and yummy Rava Dosai is ready. Serve this with Coconut Chutney or Idli Milagai Podi.
