Kesar Burfi - Deepavalli Sweet Recipe - Diwali Festival Recipe

Kesar Burfi is one of the easy and healthy sweet recipe. This requires very little ingredients and you can try this for this Diwali.

Ingredients for making Kesar Burfi
Khoya - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Saffron  4 strands
Milk - 2  tblsp
Elachi powder - 1/2 tsp.
Ghee - 1 tsp
Yellow food colour - a pinch
Cashews, almonds and Pistachios  For garnish
   

Method for making Kesar Burfi
1. Take a heavy bottomed pan and mix the khoya and sugar in a low flame and stir well till the sugar
dissolves well.

2. Soak the saffron strands in milk and add this to the khoya mixture, add the elachi powder, yellow color and stir well
for 7-8 minutes.

3. Pour the contents to a greased ghee plate, garnish with dry fruits and allow this to cool and cut this to your desired shape.

4. This stays fresh for 2 days when under refrigeration.
