Healthy Methi Paratha - Fenugreek leaves stuffed Paratha - Venthaya Keerai Paratha - Diabetic diet Recipe

Fenugreek leaves have got a number of health benefits and if included in the diet it helps in decreasing the blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. It also relieves menstrual pain and symptoms caused in menopause. It is also rich in iron, vitamin C, thiamine, riboflavin, vitamin B6, calcium, magnesium, potassium and selenium. It is also an antioxidant and rich in dietary fiber. Try this Methi paratha or fenugreek leaves paratha if you want to try something which is healthy.




Ingredients needed for making Methi Paratha

Wheat flour - 2 cups
Gram flour - 2 tbsp.
Methi leaves/fenugreek leaves - 1 cup
Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
Curd - 2 tbsp.
Red chilli powder - 3/4 tsp.
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Jeera/Cumin seeds - 1 tsp.
Salt to taste
Oil for making parathas

Method for making Methi Paratha

1.Wash the fenugreek leaves and coriander levaes in water and drain the water. Chop the leaves and keep aside.

2.Mix the wheat flour, methi leaves, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, jeera/cumin seeds, curd, salt and 2 tbsp oil all together to make a soft dough. Cover this and allow to stand for 10 to 15 minutes.

3.Now divide the dough into equal sized balls and then roll them out into chapathis.

4.Heat a tawa and put the parathas when bubbles appear flip it over and apply little oil and cook till golden brown spots appear.

5.Serve this with onion raita, chutney or any side dish of your choice.
