Gram Dhal / Kadalaiparuppu Sundal - Navarathri Sundal Recipes - Festival Recipes

Gram Dhal Sundal is one of the healthy Sundal varieties which can be prepared very quickly. This can be prepared during Navaratri and can be served to the guests. This sundal is easy because it does not need to be soaked in water overnight.

Ingredients needed for making Gram Dhal Sundal 

Kadalai Paruppu - 1 Cup
Green Chilli - 1
Red Chilli - 1
Salt - to Taste
Grated Cocunut - 1/2 cup
Grated Carrot - 1/2 cup

For Seasoning:
Oil - 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
A sprig of curry leaves
A pinch of Asafoetida

Method for making Gram Dhal Sundal 

1. Cook the Bengal gram dhal in a pressure cooker till it becomes soft.

2. Heat oil in a pan, splutter the mustard seeds, add the curry leaves, green chillies and asafoetida.

3. Add the cooked gram dhal to the above mixture and saute well.

4. Now add the grated coconut and carrot and mix well.

Now the yummy Kadalai Parrupu Sundal is ready for Navrathri.
