Ingredients for making Thengai Thuvaiyal

Fresh grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
Red Chillies - 10
Tamarind - small ball-sized
Salt as required
Oil for seasoning
A sprig of curry leaves
Mustard seeds for seasoning

Method for making Thengai Thuvaiyal

Heat little oil in a kadai and fry red chillies and dal together till they become golden brown in color. Add this to a mixie along with grated coconut, little water, salt and tamarind to a coarse paste. Season this with mustard seeds and serve with any rice variety.
