Crispy Onion Pakoda - Evening Snack - Excellent Lunch Side dish

Onion  Pakoda  is an all-time favorite starter snack  which can be prepared within minutes. This mouthwatering Pakoda is a good combination with hot coffee or tea in the evening time. Onion Pakoda is an excellent combination with rice varieties like sambar rice, curd  rice,  lemon rice.

Ingredients needed for making Onion Pakoda

Gram Flour – 2 cups
Rice flour – 1 handful
Onions – 4
Green Chillies-2
Ginger- A small piece
A sprig of Curry leaves
Salt as requires
Oil for frying
Ghee- 1 tsp.
Baking Soda- ½ tsp

Method for making Onion Pakoda

1. Cut the onions lengthwise into thin pieces.

2. Grind green chillies and ginger in a mixie.

3. In a broad vessel make a paste of ghee and baking soda, add the onions, curry leaves and the ground paste. Sprinkle little oil and mix well.

4. Add salt and the 2 flours, mix well, add little water mix well  take care not to add more water. You should just sprinkle the water.

5. Heat oil and then add the above mixture  in the form of pakodas.

6. Serve hot with tomato sauce
