Homemade Soft Idiyappam - Easy Idiyappam Recipe - Idiyappam Kurma for Dinner

Ingredients for making Soft Idiyappam

Ready made rice flour - 2 cups
Boiling water-  4 - 5 cups
Salt - 1/2 - 3/4 tsp
Grated coconut- 1 cup

Method for making Soft Idiyappam

1. Boil water with salt in a heavy bottommed vessel, add this to the flour little by little and mix well with the stem of a wooden ladle. Mix well to make a soft dogh you can add little oil to ensure that the dough does not stick. The amount of water you add varies according to the rice flour quality.

2. Now grease the idiayappam maker and add the dough, press the mould on the idli or idiyappam plates to form circular mounds.

3. Now close and steam this for about 10 minutes till the iddappam is cooked.

Now the idiyappam is ready to be served. You can sprinkle coconut and sugar and mix well or you can serve with stew or kurma.
